Gene Austin, 73 of Pensacola, FL passed away on Thursday December 24, 2015. Gene was born on July 8, 1942 to the late Edward and Ida Austin of Pensacola, FL. He was the owner of Austin Construction for 47 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and antique cars.Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Henry Austin, Cray Austin and John Austin; two sisters, Marguerita Oates and Mable Lewis.Gene is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Johanna (Tina) Austin, two daughters, Veronica Harris and Kathy Kelley along with their spouses, Wade Harris and Fred Kelley; three grandchildren, Logan Kelley, Kristen Kelley and Analeigh Harris; two brothers, Edward Austin and Bill Austin and a sister, Eleanora Romick.Pallbearers will be Terry Austin, Mike Austin, Henry Austin, Eddie Austin, Wyatt Gibson, Bob Pate, Andy Horn and Logan Kelley.Special thanks to Dr. Alsheikh and Dr. Jaalouk and Associates from Baptist Medical Group.Flowers will be accepted or make donations to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola.The family will accept friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Jeff Walker officiating.
