Victor Meiners, 84 of Carroll, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence Choir. Lector for the funeral mass will be Deb Arkfeld. Gift Bearers will be: Barbara Regynski, Mary March, Deb Arkfeld and Terri Schultes. Eucharistic Ministers will be Rick and Marilyn Hoffman and Jonathan Schultes. Casket Bearers will be: Ron Hoffman, Jerry Hoffman, Jim Hoffman, Rick Hoffman, Dick Regynski, Jonathan Schultes, Larry Arkfeld and Dennis March. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dedham with military honors conducted by the Dedham American Legion.

Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:30 p.m. on Monday where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m.

The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll.

Born on June 26, 1929 at rural Dedham, Iowa, Victor was the son of Theodore Sr. and Anna (Wiskus) Meiners. He attended St. Mary’s School in Willey and following his schooling he helped his family with their farm operation north of Dedham. Victor served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953. He returned to the Dedham area where he made his home on the family farm and was engaged in farming until 2004 when he moved to the Carroll Community with his brother Theodore.

Victor was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church in Dedham, St. Lawrence Church in Carroll, Dedham American Legion and was a 25 year member of the Carroll Rifle and Pistol Club. He enjoyed spending time with his brother Ted and all his nieces and nephews.

Victor is survived by his brother Theodore Meiners Jr. of Carroll; and many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Clara Hoffman; his sister-in-law, Natheal Meiners; and his brother-in-law, Alvin Hoffman.
