She was the daughter of Daniel Collings and Melinda Blackman Collings. On July 8, 1865 as Clarinda Collings, she married Benjamin P. Snyder at the Episcopal Church of the Redemption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Death of Mrs. B.P. Snyder
Mrs. Clarinda Collins Snyder, widow of Benjamin P. Snyder, died yesterday at St. Louis. Mrs. Snyder was returning from a visit to her daughter, who resides at Hot Springs, Arkansas, to her home near Hyattsville, Maryland, when she was stricken with heart disease. Two sons and three daughters survive her – Elnathan P. Snyder [1866-1940] of New York, Benjamin P. Snyder of this city, Mrs. H.P. Collins [Jesse Collings born 1867] of Hot Springs, Mrs. E.L. Sternberg [name later changed to Stephenson] of Jackson, Ohio and Miss Elsie Snyder of this city. The remains will arrive here tomorrow morning and the funeral services will be held at Mrs. Snyder’s late home at Collinswood, Prince George’s County, Maryland, Wednesday at 5PM.

Will of Clarinda Snyder
The fill of the late Clarinda Snyder, dated June 24, 1897 and appointing the National Safe Deposit, Savings and Trust Company as executors, was filed today.

The testatrix’s jewelry and wearing apparel are equally divided among her daughters and the residue of the estate is devised to the executor for the benefit equally of the testatrix’s children, Benjamin P. Snyder, Elnathan P. Snyder, Grace Blackman Sternburger, Jessie Collings and Elsie Alice Snyder and their issue.

Upon the death of the surviving child the principal parts of the estate are to be paid to those thereto entitled.
