Edgar Edwin Jackson, 55, formerly of Oneonta, died shortly after midnight January 2 at the home of his son Willard at 7332 Sparta Avenue, Birmingham. Born and reared in Blount County, he was the son of the late Robert Kyle and Delie Bynum Jackson. He and his wife, the former Callie Ryan, made their home here until several months ago when, due to his ill health, they moved to Birmingham.
Surviving besides the widow and son are three brothers, W. C. and A. M. Jackson, of Gadsden, and O. W. Jackson, of Birmingham; two sisters, Mrs. S. M. Gunn, of Birmingham, and Mrs. A. R. Murphree, of Wilsonville; one grandson, Richard WIllard Jackson.
Funeral services were held on January 3, at Antioch Methodist church, the Rev. Thomas Kitchens officiating. pallbearers were Loyd and Elbert Harris, Filo Hyde, Howard Roberts, Lyvoye Galbreath, and Joe Robinette. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery, Wiggins Brown-Service Funeral Home is charge.
