Leslie S. Grant, 64, of Hennepin died Dec. 23, 2015, in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Prayers will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Granville. Monsignor James E. Kruse and the Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. At 4 p.m., Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be recited.

Les was born June 23, 1951, in Decatur to James A. and Betty Jane (Baldwin) Grant.

He married Carlene Meuser on Feb. 8, 1971, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Granville.

He graduated from Putnam County High School in 1969. Les attended Illinois Valley Community College and received his associate's degree in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army 1971-74. He was the owner and operator of a printing company in Spring Bay.

Les was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hennepin, Lions Club and had been a member of the Hennepin Fire Department. He was also a Putnam County School Board member. He was actively involved in Teens Encounter Christ and Cursillo communities for over 30 years and was awarded "Spirit of TEC" along with his wife in 2014. He directed the first two Putnam County Education Foundation musicals.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Tim (Liza) Grant of Highland Park and Phil Grant of Peru; one daughter, Lesly Grant of Highland Park; four brothers, William Grant of Denver, Colo., Jack Grant of La Salle, Rick Grant of Bloomington and Mark Grant of Athens; three grandchildren, Alexa, John and Tommy Grant.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Timothy.

Contributions may be directed to Masses, Peterstown TEC, Illinois Valley Cursillo or St. Jude.

Pallbearers will be Harold E. Fay, Amy Fay, Carlton Fay, Kevin Fay, Harold N. Fay, Dave Pyszka, Tim Pyszka and Justin Judd.
