Luella Misener Murphy, of Sun City Center, Florida, and formerly of Parsons, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at her home following a brief illness.

She was born in Garfield, Kansas to Ellis and Wyona (Phillpot) Giddens.

For many years, she worked at Day and Zimmerman in Parsons until retiring.

She received great pleasure in gifting her beautiful handmade quilts to family members.

Luella loved to travel. Through the years, she enjoyed taking several bus trips and cruises with her family.

She was currently a member of the First Christian Church of Sun City Center in Ruskin, Florida.

Luella requested that tears not be shed but to use this time to celebrate the life that she had lived. She was grateful to have been able to do so much and to experience so much love in her lifetime.

On May 25, 1946, she and Earl E. Misener were married in Oswego, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2001.

On January 28, 2010, she and Lester Lynn Murphy were married in Grove, Oklahoma. The couple had recently made their home in Florida.

One Son – Mike Misener and his wife, Nan Platte City, MO
Two Daughters – Karen Thompson Eudora, KS
Linda Beaver and her husband, Dennis Sun City Center, FL
Stepchildren – Terri and Tim Morris Lecompton, KS
Jeff and Ann Murphy Topeka, KS
Chris and Paula Murphy Columbus, GA
Seventeen Grandchildren
Nine Great-Grandchildren
One Great-Great-Grandchild
One Sister – Joan Fortune Seattle, WA
One Stepbrother – Edward Giddens Seattle, WA

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Misener; two grandsons, Casey Beaver and Hunter Misener; and one brother, LeRoy Giddens.

Cremation has taken place.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Immediately following the visitation, memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Gentiva Hospice. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
