Funeral services for Jodie Denton, 92, of Sulphur Springs were at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 8, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Hall officiating.
Burial was at Pleasant Grove, near cumby.

Mrs. Denton died Thursday, February 5, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 25, 1905 in Hopkins County, the daughter of Ed and Lucy Finley Sloan.

She married Lonnie Denton November 19, 1922 in Hopkinds county. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Mrs. Denton was a homemaker and a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Sanders of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Gertrude Hood and Oleta Broiles, both of Sulphur Springs, and Esther Close of Kilgore; a granddaughter, Beverly Goodwin of Bonham; and a great-granddaughter, Marla Goodwin of Bonham.

She was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters, Oma Moss, Dessie Asbill, Shadie Burrows, Georgeia Webb and Lottie Adams.

Memorials may be made to Davis Street Baptist Church.
