Jacob Fouts was born abt. 1786 [1850 Census Records] in Rowan County, North Carolina, the son of John Leonard Fouts, Sr. (1755-1799) and Catherine Shearer (1758-1840). He married Mary Margaret Baker abt. 1806, likely in Ashe County, N.C. Jacob died on 14 July 1852 in Macon County, North Carolina.
