Born June 23, 1924 in Falls Creek, PA, he was the son of the late James and Lucy (Mayo) D'Anna.
On June 25, 1947, he married Mary L. (Bonesi) D'Anna. She survives. This past year, they celebrated their 68th year of marriage.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II in the South Pacific.
Mr. D'Anna retired from the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as a carman after 35 years of service. After his retirement, he worked in the custodial department at Jeff Tech.
He was the oldest living member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Falls Creek where he was an usher for many years. He was a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was the best father ever.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: James J. D'Anna and his wife, Karen of Tyrone, PA, William J. D'Anna of Brockway, PA, Nancy S. Murray of DuBois, PA and Julie Parsons and her husband, James of Greensburg, PA. He is also survived by two siblings, Peter W. D'Anna of Severna Park, MD, and Mary Ann Ferko and her husband, William of Punxsutawney, PA, a grandson, Johnathan D'Anna and his wife, Jill of Ludowici, GA and a great grandchild, Mark Kalgren of Glenville, GA.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy D'Anna and two granddaughters, Michelle and Lori D'Anna.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10 A.M. from the St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Falls Creek with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.
Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
