John Ludwig, son of Mathias and Mary Ludwig,, born 1841 in Lorraine, France, died 1922 at Harper, Iowa. On Jan. 1, 1850, came to America with his parents. Survived by his wife and 2 children, 3 sisters, Mary (Mrs. John) Kaufman of Harper; Anna (Mrs. Joseph) Heuberger of Westphalia, Kansas; Katherine (Mrs. Peter) Rettler of Harper and one brother, Matt Ludwig of Cheney, Washington.

Mrs. Mary Kaufman, born near Paris, France, in 1843, the daughter of Mathias and Mary Ludwig. Survived by 9 children, one brother, Matt Ludwig of Cheney Washington and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Rettler of Harper. Emigrated 1859 (1850 in John Ludwig's obituary) with her parents, married 4 years later.
