James Brown Baines age 83 of the Shop Springs community, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2015 at Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon. Born Aug. 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Harrison and Ella McMillen Baines and was preceded in death by brothers, Grady, J.W. and Albert Baines. James was a member of Shop Springs Baptist Church, he was a 25 yr. employee of Perfection Dairy and retired from the Wilson Co. Road Commission. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55. James is survived by his wife, Jean Nettles Baines; children, Michael Baines and wife, Betty of Cleveland, Jackie Turner and husband, Tommy of Shop Springs, Keith Baines and wife, Jan of Mt. Juliet, Karen Hobson and husband, Charles of Watertown; grandchildren, Bryant Baines, Justin, Jeffery and Jason (Cissy) Turner, Blair Hobson and Tyler Hobson; great grandchildren, Amelia Turner and Macy Hobson; sisters, Frances White and Mary Jo (Shelton) Howell both of Lebanon and Betty Jean Reasonover of Murfreesboro; brothers, Edward (Judy)Baines, Herman (Mary Nell) Baines, Roy (Liz) Baines, Finis (Sue) Baines all of Lebanon; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 at Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Essary and Rev. Carl Price officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbears. The Adult Men's and Homemaker's Sunday School Classes of Shop Springs Baptist church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. till service time of Wednesday, Interment will be at Jones Hill Cemetery.
