Stearman - At Del Ray, June 21, after a long and painful illness, Melinda, wife of Robert C. Stearman of Momence, aged 71 years.
The funeral was held in the Methodist church on Sunday, the next day, and her body was buried in the Del Ray cemetery.

Melinda's marriage to Robert was her fifth marriage. Info from FamilySearch. org. From other info online, I believe she was Fanny Anderson Stearman's sister (Robert's first wife).

I have found several entries on your Facebook group that suggest that Melinda's previous name was Saddlemire. That was her name when she married my gg grandfather. I also think she was my gg grandmother's sister so her maiden name would have been Anderson. Both Melinda & Robert were widow & widower. Melinda was buried in the Del Rey Cemetery (not Del Ray) so I am guessing her former husband could be buried there although there is no record of him. There are two other Saddlemires buried there. There is a Del Rey (sic) Cemetery in Iroquois County. Does this make sense to you?
