Mrs. Lizzie Loon, age 58 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.Lizzie was born on December 3, 1955 and dedicated her life to raising her family. She loved visiting and spending time with loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lizzie had a heart of gold and was friendly to everyone she met. She enjoyed good music, partying and walks around the city, where she met many cherished friends. Lizzie also enjoyed broom ball and played for the Muskeg Queens where she was known as the "Roadrunner."Lizzie is survived by her 4 children Doris (Stewart), Stanford (Sophia), Rose (Darryl) and Elaine (Eugene); 21 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 3 God-Daughters Sunset Achneepineskum, Skye Achneepineskum and Jessica Wenjack. She is also survived by mother Agnes Wenjack and her 5 sisters Daisy Munro, Pearl Achneepineskum, Evelyn Baxter, Annie Wenjack and Martha Wenjack as well as her common-law husband Archie Yapput and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Loon; father James Wenjack; sisters Margaret and Emily; brothers Charlie, George and Sam and 2 great-grandchildren Richarad and Blaze, God-Son Arthur "Archie" Wenjack and nephew Wild Bill Achneepineskum.Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma, Thunder Bay. Lizzie will then be transported to Fawcett Funeral Home in Geraldton, Ontario where visitation will be held on Monday evening from 7:00PM until 9:00PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00AM in St. James Anglican Church, Geraldton.
