Mr. J. Rayburn May, age 68, of Forrest City, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at his home. Mr. May was born June 21, 1933, in Forrest City, and was the son of John R. May and Elven Voss May. He lived in St. Francis County most of his life, was a retired construction worker, a veteran of the National Guard and was a Presbyterian. Mr. May is survived by his wife, Kathryn May of Forrest City; two sons: John Rayburn May, Jr., and Mark Dwain May, both of Forrest City; two daughters: Janet House and Lynn Parker, both of Mountain Home; two brothers: Mitchell May of Forrest City, and Marshall May of Red Banks, Miss.; two sisters: Charlene Rushing of Forrest City and Phylliss Nance of Searcy; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. May will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Home, with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
