Charlene Susan Rushing, age 83, of Forrest City, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. She had been in poor health for several years.
Mrs. Rushing was born June 4, 1932 in Forrest City and was the daughter of John R. May and Elven Voss May. She lived in Memphis most of her life until moving back to Forrest City in 1996. She was a retired secretary for the Memphis City Schools, attended the Oak Hill Church of God, and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Russellville.
Mrs. Rushing married Arbert Lee Rushing in 1953, and he preceded her in death in 2014. Her son Barry W. Rushing and her brother John Rayburn May also preceded her in death.
