Terry Don Manning
was born in Buffalo, NY on September 5, 1950, passed away on December 10, 2015..in Gadsden Regional Hospital after a short stay..had been a resident of Collinsville Healthcare and Rehab, Collinsville, Al.. lived his young years in or around Collinsville/Ft. Payne area..graduated from Fort Payne High School, but attended Collinsville school for first 10 yrs ..his parents moving to Fort Payne, later after high school he joined the US Army, but was discharged after a brief enlistment..coming back to Ft. Payne, working at different jobs then getting married started his family soon after attending Jacksonville Police Academy, was on police force at Collinsville, Rainsville, Powells then Bridgeport Alabama..his life would take a big change, becoming a truckdriver...While being a truckdriver, his desire was to be a alltime Santa Claus, he had the white hair, the beard, the exact look going on and from Thanksgiving till Christmas would be Santa in the Martha Berry Mall in Rome, Ga..he loved the joy he brought to the children, but some would tear his heart out, hard to deal with at times..again his health would prevent him from fulfilling his joy of being Santa..so many people only knew him as Santa Claus..
He is preceded in death by his parents Don and Deliah Manning, his wife Jane Beck Manning and our sister Judy White..he has two sons..Nathan Manning Seattle, Washington, Joshua Manning in the Phillipines, after retiring from US Navy...had four step children, Melissa Dooley Breece, David Holtzclaw, Clarence and Tim Dooley..two brothers..David Heard, Collinsville, Al..Steve Kean, St Louis, Mo and the sister Judy White who passed last year..
He was a people person, if you got to know him you loved him, he is going to be missed by those who really knew him..the staff of Collinsville Healthcare, was his extended family,As was the members of Calvary Church, Collinsville, Al....there will be a Memorial/homegoing service on December 20, 2015 at 2 pm at Calvary Church, Brother Jerry Patton and Phillip Battles officating.. his burial is to be at Whitehall cemetery near Ft. Payne/ Hammondville, Al.....
