Jerry Jo Hensy, 78 years, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Pawhuska Hospital.
Jerry Jo was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 21, 1937 to William R. and Jeraldine (Mills) Blunk. She married Michael Hensy on June 20, 1959 in Tulsa and in
1970, they moved to Pawhuska. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska.
Jerry Jo loved cooking; the idea of riding motorcycles and her family was the joy of her life. She loved the gatherings of her family and especially loved crocheting and knitting items for her family. She made booties and hats for all of her grandchildren and great­ grandchildren and afghans and other items for the rest of her family. Jerry Jo also made and donated crocheted and knitted items to newborn babies in the hospital and in the
NICU and also the elderly. She taught her daughters and granddaughters the craft and they are carrying on her traditions. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother
and will be dearly missed.
Jerry Jo is survived by: her husband, Michael of the home; 8 children: Julia D. Clevenger and her husband, Troy of Tulsa, OK, Lisa Hughes and her husband, Seth of Ochelata, OK, John M. Hensy, Sr. and his wife Janice of Round Rock, TX, Philip C. Hensy of Grainola, OK, Ann M. Magee of Pawhuska, OK, Michelle Chandler and her husband
Kevin of Ponca City, OK, Lieutenant Commander Homer F. Hensy and his wife Melissa of Suffolk, VA, and Mary Jo Long and her husband Eddie of Tulsa, OK; 25 Grandchildren; 30 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers-in-law: Dr. Tom Harned of Oklahoma City, OK and Phil Hensy of Tulsa, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry Jo is preceded in death by: her parents, her Great-Grandson, Ryker Aiden and her sister, Dr. Judith Harned.
