Judy spent most of her formative years growing up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated Marquette High School in 1954. Judy attended: St. John School of Nursing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, receiving a diploma in Nursing; The University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree; Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, receiving a Master's Degree in Family Relations and Child Development; The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Ecology. Judy worked at Muskogee General Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma; St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Oakland, California. She returned to Oklahoma and joined the faculty of St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the Director of Nursing Education at The Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She taught Nursing at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. She worked at The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as an Assistant Professor and Research Consultant. She worked with her husband with Harned and Harned Consultants in Coyle, Oklahoma. She worked at Langston University in the School of Nursing, School of Agriculture in Research and the Library as the Director of the Student Computer Lab. She retired from Langston University in 1995. During Judy's life, she was a Registered Nurse, Educator and Researcher. Judy's faith was a dominate part of her life. She attended the Roman Catholic Church wherever she lived. Judy enjoyed quilting, cooking, canning, gardening, knitting, reading and her daily prayer life. Later in life she knitted and donated prayer shawls for hospice. Her greatest love of life was her family. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. The funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
