Eugene "Gene" Rader passed away August 21, 2017 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Gene was an active member and Deacon of Beaumont Ave. Baptist Church. He retired from Oak Ridge and was a member of the Masons and Eastern Star. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Pocono. Preceded in death by his son Brad Rader; parents, Jonah and Gertie Rader; sisters, Mildred Romano and Edna Flatt; brothers, Clyde, Ray, Luke, Earl and Pete Rader. He is survived by his wife, Betty Rader; son, Mike Rader, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Family will receive friends Thursday in Weaver's chapel from 5:00-7:00 pm with service to follow. Reverends Ron Russell and Dean Braden officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 am Friday at New Gray Cemetery for a 10:00 am interment. Arrangements by Weaver Funeral Home.
