Lorraine Rutz, 85 year old resident of rural Randall, MN, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN, with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 PM on Saturday, Dec. 19th at the church.

Lorraine Helen Fafara was born on August 31, 1930, in Pike Creek Township, MN to the late Joseph and Victoria (Warchol) Fafara. She attended the Country School District #38 through the eighth grade. Upon the completion of school, she helped out on the family farm alongside her mother and brothers. Lorraine was united in marriage to Anthony Rutz on April 22, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN. They settled on Anthony’s dairy farm in Culdrum Township where they raised their family of four children and operated the dairy farm. Loraine took care of a vegetable and flower garden. She loved to cook and was featured as a “gourmet cook” in the Little Falls Transcript. Lorraine took pride in her home and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at holidays and birthdays. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorraine enjoyed dancing and old time music, bingo, and trips she took to Washington and Florida. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church her entire life where she helped out with cleaning and funeral lunches. Lorraine was also a member of the Rosary Sodality. The Catholic faith was very important to her.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren (with 2 on the way).

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Victoria Fafara; siblings, Matthew Fafara, Minnie Zilka, Dorothy Zilka, Frances Rutz, Richard Fafara, Bernice Fafara, Martin Fafara, Ted Fafara, Walter Fafara and Julian Fafara.
