Gladys Travis, 81, of 1520 El Camino died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Pekin Hospital.

Born July 1, 1923, in South Pekin to James L. and Cora Wilder Wilder, she married J. Clarence Byland on Nov. 3, 1946. He died April 20, 1964. She married Roleigh P. Travis on June 7, 1975. He died in July 1976.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Surviving are one son, Randall (and Kathleen) Byland of Pekin; one brother, Richard Wilder of Sterling; and two sisters, Gertrude Elliott and Ida Depoy, both of Pekin.

She was the security manager of Kmart in Pekin for 13 years, retiring in October 1984.

She was a member of Pekin Hospital League.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
