Jo Ann Whipple Garlick, 66, passed away on August 31, 2006 at Stuart, FL, from complications associated with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Columbus, GA and graduated from Jordan High School. She attended Columbus College, a branch of the University of Georgia. She was secretary to the Chief of Orthopedics at Martin Army Hospital at Fort Benning, GA before moving to Stuart in 1967 to become medical secretary for Dr. Daniel E. Stalker.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Stuart for over thirty years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn L. Whipple and Emery L. Whipple of Columbus, GA.
Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Garlick, III of Stuart; two brothers, Arthur Ray Whipple of Rincon, GA, Stephen E. Whipple (Ann) of Columbus, GA; two nieces and one nephew.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Stuart, 201 W. Ocean Blvd., Stuart with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Internment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
