Charles Oliver, native of England and resident of Grass Valley since 1921, died today at 12:05 a.m. at the Nevada County Hospital.
He came to the United States in 1910 and for a few years worked in steel mills. Before coming to Grass Valley he resided in Butte, Mont. It was at Butte he married May Ashbourne, who survives.
The family home is at 411 Chapel Street.
A miner, he had worked at the North Star, Empire and Idaho Maryland mines. He retired a few years ago.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hooper-Weaver Mortuary. Rev. Wesley Jenzen of the First Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
