Hays -- C. David Jensen, 66, Hays, died Friday, April 18, 1997, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter. Mr. Jensen was born Nov. 1, 1930, at Hays and moved to Hays from Grinnell.

He was a farmer and rancher and a member of the St. Catherine's Catholic Church of Catherine and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the city council and PRIDE, a Gove County Scout leader and 4-H leader in Ellis and Gove counties. He was also a member of AAM and NFO and Sig Tau of Fort Hays University.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of the home; a son, David L. "Duke" of Victoria; four daughters, Kathleen Beckman and Rebecca Williams, both of Norton, Jacqulyn Teeter of Grinnell and Cynthia Combs of Hays; three brothers, Carl, Ivan and Harold, all of Hays; two sisters, Martha E. Jensen of Hays and Rossie Morgan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, the Revs. Earl Befort and Basil Torres officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Hays. Memorials may be made to the Gove County Medical Center, Quinter. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.
