Private Co B 1st Minnesota Infantry

Residence was not listed; 20 years old.
Enlisted on 5/20/1861 as a Private.
On 5/20/1861 he mustered into "B" Co. MN 1st Infantry
He was discharged for wounds on 8/14/1862
He was listed as: Wounded 7/21/1861 Bull Run, VA (Arm amputated)

Charles Francis Ricketts was 20 years old when this Missouri native became a member of Company B. He was wounded in the regiment's first fight at Bull Run. He was wounded in the arm. It must have been and long and unsuccessful recovery. He had to have the arm amputated. Records indicate that he was discharged for disability on August 14, 1862, more than a year later.
After being discharged he married Anna Price. They had 8 children. He was involved in the first land run and homesteaded a quarter section of land 3 miles north of Union City, Oklahoma. He held several different jobs. One which was delivering supplies for the army between Fort Smith and Fort Reno. He died January 27, 1889. He was 60 years old.
