Stephen J. Abfall, age 88, a life-long resident of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Private family services were held.
Stephen John Abfall was born on April 3, 1923 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Anton and Theresa (Krebs) Abfall. After graduating from Beaver Dam High School in 1941, Steve enlisted in the United States Navy; he served during World War II from January 1943 to April 1946. On June 3, 1946, he was united in marriage with Arlene Girard at St. Peter''s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Steve worked at Weyenberg Shoe Factory for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Abfall of Beaver Dam; two sons, Jon (Kay) Abfall of Beaver Dam and Leslie Abfall of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers and three half-sisters.
