He was the son of Vincent and Lucy (Frank) Kaufman. On Apr 25, 1959, he married Lenora Schuller, who survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are three sons: Mike (Nancy), Ottawa, and Glenn (Jill) and Nick (Jane), both Glandorf; two daughters: Leslie (Chris) DePiero, Macedonia, and Kris (Kevin) Durczynski, Oregon; three brothers: Ralph and Thomas (Carol), both Glandorf, and John, Ottawa; four sisters: Irene Morman, Phyllis (Bob) Frey and Joyce Yant, all Ottawa, and Rosemary (Tom) Wolke, Glandorf; a sister-in-law, Irene Kaufman, Ottawa; and seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers linked below.

An auto body mechanic, he was a member of the Army National Guard, the Ottawa Knights of Columbus 3rd degree, and the Ottawa Eagles. He was a faithful catholic and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He was an usher for 40 years. He was a devoted husband and father, easy going and hard working, who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He loved fishing, playing euchre, and cars.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Rev. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
