Virginia Claire Ortego Elmore “Ginny”, formerly of Salado, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2015. The youngest of 11 children, Ginny was born on January 16, 1922 to Isola Foret and Regile Ortego. In 1940, she married her one true love, Loy Marvin Elmore, and was blessed with two beautiful sons; Peter Loy Wayne and Phillip Marvin. Ginny was lovingly known as “Mimi” to her two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
As an avid bowler in the early years and a skilled golfer in the twilight years, Ginny never lost her characteristic spirit. She was a member of Saint Stephen Catholic Church in Salado and cherished the friendships she carried forward from there.
Ginny was proceeded in death by her gentle husband, Loy; her beloved son, Peter; her parents and all ten of her siblings. She is survived by her devoted son Phillip and his wife Debra; their daughters, Laura and Kristin; and her great-grandchildren, Ian, Kirin and Emery. She will be loved forever.
A graveside service will take place at the Salado Cemetery on Saturday, December 5th at 10am. Father Jude Uche will preside.
