Caroline Lemke was born in Neudorfchen, Gross Gilwe, Klein Tromnau, Danzig-West Prussia(today Poland) on the 3rd July 1838 to Jacob Lemke and Eva Mahlzahn. Her baptismal date was the 12th August 1838. She married on the 13th of December 1865 at Klein Tromnau, Danzig-West Prussia(now Poland) Frederick William Kischel, son of Adam Kischel who was born on the 9th of May 1841. Her first daughter was Ida Bertha Kischel who was born on the 18th of November 1866 at Gross Gilwe, West Prussia. She died on the 29th of September 1868 in Gross Gilwe, West Prussia. Her first son was Theodore Theophilus Kischel who was born on the 10th of September 1868 in Gross Gilwe, West Prussia. The second son was Frederick William Kischel was who was born in Gross Gilwe, West Prussia on the 6th February 1872 and died on the 26th March 1872. Her third son was born on the journey to Canada on the 10th April 1873 and he was Eli Albert William Frederick Kischel. Her second daughter was born in the village of Baden, Wilmot Township, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada on the 22nd May 1875 and her name was Emma Kischel. The fourth son was Conrad Robert Kischel who was born on the 13th of April 1876 at the Village of Baden, Wilmot Township, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada. He spelled his surname Kirschel. Richard Gottfried Linhard "Fred" Kishcel was born in the Village of Baden on the 26th of June 1878. Her daughter Augustina Wilhelmina Kischel was born in the Village of Baden on the 1st of September 1880.

Caroline's sister Augustine Lemke also immigrated with her husband and children from West Prussia. Augustine Lemke married on the 22nd of February 1869 in Gross Gilwe, West Prussia Johann(John) Leiskau. The Leiskau Family also resided in the Village of Baden, Wilmot Township, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada.
