Brad, of Shawnee, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006 in his
home at the age of 36 years. He was born March 17, 1970
in Holdenville. Brad graduated from Wewoka High School in 1988. He was active in football, basketball and tennis.
Following High School Brad attended Seminole Jr. College and then transferred to Oklahoma University.
Brad was employed with Americontact working as a National Account Manager. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wewoka. He was baptized April 8, 1979.
Brad was a huge fan of OU!
During his youth Brad so enjoyed his attending OU football games on Saturdays with Pa-pa. They also shared many travels on Pa-pa's bread truck. Brad's happiest days were
when he was with his family. During his youth he and his
Mom and Sister would go to Wetumka Lake for big family
get together. He would always talk about, "Mamma using her cast iron skillet." Brad enjoyed camping, and every year he and his family would float down the Illinois River, and he loved that time together. Brad loved music, maybe because every Saturday morning Mom would wake him and his sister and "crank up the music" because it was time to clean! Brad and his mother shared many hours listening to music which he passed on to his sons.
Brad enjoyed grilling and considered himself a Master Chef, jokingly with his family.
Brad became an avid golf player. He was proud he had
taught all three of his boys to love the water just as he
learned as a young boy.
Brad is survived by his wife, Amber (Lawrence) Horton of the home; three children, Tyler Levi Horton of Oklahoma City, Hunter Calvin Horton of Mustang and Bryson Cruz Horton of Shawnee; mother, Beverly (Howarth) Horton of Oklahoma City; father, Robert F. Horton of McCloud;
