FAIRFAX — Gladys Pauline Logan, former longtime resident of Muskogee and current resident of Ponca City and Fairfax, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at Fairfax Memorial Hospital. She was 86.

The service will be held Thursday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with Steve Taylor, nephew of Gladys, presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.

Gladys was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Wainwright, the daughter of Oscar and Pearl Gladden Barnes. She grew up and attended schools in Wainwright. She married and moved to Muskogee where she completed her education and attended Draughn Business College.

In 1948, she began a career as a secretary for Vocational Rehabilitation in Muskogee. She married Dr. John Alexander Logan in 1952 and they continued to make their home in Muskogee. Dr. Logan preceded her in death in 1977. Gladys retired from Vocational Rehabilitation in 1980 after 32 years of dedicated service. She relocated to the Renaissance in Ponca City in June of 1996 and was one of their first residents. She was transferred to Fairfax Nursing Home this past July.

Gladys was a very devoted and active member of First United Methodist Church in Muskogee. She was past president and longtime member of Business and Professional Women in Muskogee.

Gladys loved spending time with her family and was especially fond of her grandchildren, and they of her. She also loved to read and enjoyed playing cards. Sewing, doing needlepoint and knitting were a favorite pastime.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Harrison and husband J. Berry of Fairfax; her son, Jerry Manton Hobbs and wife Shelly of Seaside, Ore.; two sisters, Lillian Luttrell and husband Harold of Muskogee and Betty Sanders and husband Ken of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Eugene Hobbs and Lance Hobbs and wife Tina, all of Oregon, and Tracie Harrison Redden and J. Berry Harrison Jr. and wife, Karen, all of Fairfax; nine great-grandchildren, Kyle Hobbs, Rayna Hobbs, Stephanie Hobbs, Aleah Hobbs, Marley Hobbs, Jeffrey Harrison Redden, Jacquelyn Jolie Redden, J. Berry "Bo" Harrison III and Drew Alexander Harrison; one great, great-granddaughter, Olivia Hobbs; and five nieces and nephews, Marsha Hackler and husband Dr. Jim Hackler of Tulsa, Cindy Dennehy and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, Bruce Montgomery and wife Cathy of Muskogee, Brenda Taylor and husband Steve of Oklahoma City and Glendena Green of Broken Arrow.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dr. John Alexander Logan, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howell Barnes, and sister, Oleta Coffman Brandrup.
