Born Jan. 18, 1920, Salt Lake City to Augustus William and Martha Baumann Copfer. Married Melba Noorda May 1, 1941, Salt Lake City. Member LDS Church, Parleys 7th Ward; worked as mill man at Kennecott Copper; chief shop steward for Local 392 Steelworkers of America; veteran WW II.

Survivors: widow; mother, both Salt Lake City; sons, Earl W. Jr., Granger; Duane G., Alpine; Michael C., Salt Lake City; four grandchildren.

Funeral Tuesday, noon, 36 E. 7th South, where friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial pending.
