Armeta Robbins Wright Tompkins, 82, died December 1, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

She was born July 12, 1933 to Furmer Robbins and Isley Beane Robbins.

Mrs. Tompkins was a native of Randolph County and attended First Christian Church of Randleman. She was formerly employed with W & J Rives Manufacturing in High Point and retired from Randolph County School system and the North Carolina Zoo. In addition to her parents, Armeta was preceded in death by her brother: Gus Robbins.

She is survived by her husband: Junior C. Tompkins of the home; daughter: Donna Staley of Randleman; son: Jack “Buddy” Wright, Jr. of Monroe; granddaughter: Ellen Staley Lucas and her husband, Jeff of Randleman; step grandson: Billy Tompkins and his wife, Michelle of Asheboro; 2 great grandchildren: Dustee and Grant Lucas; 3 step great grandchildren: Brittany Tompkins, Cayce Debzi and Steven Tompkins; 3 step great-great grandchildren; sisters: Evelyn “Dolly” Hames and Charlesanna Park both of Asheboro; special friend: Jewel Lamb and many extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Joe Farlow officiating.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro.
