A resident of New Roads, she died at 4:58 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2000, at Dixon Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 74 and a native of Bordelonville. Visiting at St. Mary Catholic Church, New Roads, from 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Michael Schatzle and the Rev. Jerome Dugas. Entombment in False River Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn "Capi" and Edward "Sandy" Merrick, New Roads; three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Mary K. Bergeron, Andre and Nancy Bergeron and Edward and Pam Bergeron, all of New Roads; five sisters, Ruth Maillet, Joanna Bordelon, Estelle Prevost, Rose Marie Guilbeau and Saul Ann Apel; and 11 grandchildren, including three granddaughters, Katie, Catherine and Lauren Bergeron, and eight grandsons, Ben, Andrew and David Merrick and Paul, Charles, Joseph, Michael and Thomas Bergeron. Preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Andrew Bergeron; parents, Lennie S. and Estelle Coco; three sisters, Rebecca Donham, Doris Feduccia and Sylvia Coco; and three brothers, Paul Coco and Hubert and Alfred Firment. Pallbearers will be Ben, Andrew and David Merrick and Paul, Charles, Joseph, Michael and Thomas Bergeron. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society.
