Verbal (Davenport) Kays, 79, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Eldon Nursing & Rehab in Eldon, Missouri. She was born February 4, 1936 in Barnett, Missouri the daughter of the late Gene and Geneva (Groff) Davenport. She was united in marriage to Billy Darrell Kays who preceded her in death on December 13, 1991.
Survivors include 1 son and 2 sisters.
She graduated from the Eldon School Systems and grew up attending the Assembly of God Church near Barnett, MO and became a member of the Barnett Baptist Church in Barnett, MO. She later moved to the Kansas City area where she was employed at Sears Robuck and later became a hair stylist and was then employed with Western Electric before returning to Eldon.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Everett Rayl officiating. Interment will follow at Big Rock Cemetery near Barnett, MO.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials are suggested to Big Rock Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
