Genevieve was born to Elmer and Mable (Brouse) Dietze. She graduated from Plummer High School in 1945 and went on to beauty school in Spokane.

She and Richard R. Morris were married March 3, 1951, in Coeur d'Alene, a union that lasted 64 years, until her passing. They raised a son and two daughters together.

The couple lived on the Palouse and Camas Prairie before they moved to Lewiston in 1957. Genevieve went to work for the Lewiston School District as a cook shortly after that, retiring from Webster as a head cook in 1986 after 27 years of service.

Genevieve enjoyed doing crafts, reading, cooking for her family and working in her flower garden. After retiring, Genevieve and Richard enjoyed many years of camping with the Good Sam Club and her family.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lauramae White; and parents Mable and Elmer Dietze.
