GARDNER, Lynn H. Age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 19, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on September 2, 1930 to Mary Irene Hansen and Jacob Obed Gardner in Rupert, Idaho, he was a resident of Fairfield for more than 30 years. He served in the Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in 1954. In 1955 he married Joan Lorraine Tolman in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They shared many happy memories during their 44 year marriage and welcomed nine children into their family. Lynn graduated from Fresno State College in 1964 with a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from Champion International Paper Company in 1996 with 26 years of service. Lynn served two full-time two year missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first was in the New England States mission and the second in the North Carolina, Raleigh mission. After losing his beloved Joan in 1999, he married Bobbye Ann Tucker in 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan, daughter, Julie Lyn Gardner, son-in-law, Gregory Gene Lastoria, grandson, Solomon Jack Gardner, great grandson, Taylor Burton, sister-in-law, Leah nee Stanger Gardner and brother, Rex O Gardner. He is survived by his wife, Bobbye, of Draper, Utah, brother, Reid (Connie) Gardner of Loveland, Colorado, children, Martha (David) Allen of Tooele, Utah, Jeffrey (Shirleen) Gardner of Taylorsville, Utah, David (Lisa) Gardner of Emery, Utah, Sylvia (Eric) Johnson of Fairfield, Ohio, Cyrus (Diana) Gardner of Taylorsville, Utah, Mary (James) Boehmer of Tooele, Utah, Margaret (Pernell) King of Greensburg, Indiana, and Debra (Reed) Meier of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, step-son, John (Jackie) Pilkinton of Draper, Utah, and step-daughter Laura (Steve) Hawley of Sedalia, Missouri, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, November 30, 2015 from 6-8PM at the Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH, 45014 and again Tuesday morning from 9AM until time of service (10AM) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4831 Pleasant Avenue, Fairfield, OH, 45014 with burial to follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
