EDNA R. LOOFBORO, 89 BELVIDERE - Edna R. Loofboro, 89, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully, Thursday, November 26, 2015, at Maple Crest Care Center, Belvidere. Edna was born June 25, 1926, in Rockford, IL, daughter of Lawrence and Hazel (Abbott) Crimmins. She married Elmer L. Loofboro on September 1, 1945, in Rockford, IL. Edna worked tirelessly for the residents of Boone County for over 30 years as an assistant to Elmer, who was the animal control warden until his passing in 1990. She was a past member of Belvidere Assembly of God, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Edna loved crafts, crossword puzzles, and especially bingo. She also enjoyed playing slot machines. Edna is loved and will be missed by her children, Vivian (Robert) Hendricks, Vickey (Richard) Gummerus, Leslie Loofboro, Robbie (Sandi Cayler) Loofboro; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Loofboro; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; son, Gary Loofboro; 1 sister; and 3 brothers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Transitions Hospice and Maple Crest Care Center for the excellent care of Edna. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008, with Rev. Dale Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m., until the time of service. Burial will take place in Highland Garden of Memories. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
