Clara Marie Cox, longtime resident of Fairfax, passed November 25, 2015 at the Fairfax Manor Nursing Home at the age of 94.

Clara Marie was born August 2, 1921 in Norwood, Missouri, the daughter of Dewey Young and Clara (Thomas) Young. Her schooling was in the Fairfax Schools. In earlier years she had worked at the Hatcher Drug Store in Fairfax and also was a nurse's aide for several years. She loved playing golf and had worked at one time at the Fairfax Golf Course.

Her enjoyments included her family, playing golf, playing the piano and the outdoors. She was a member of the Fairfax Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her five children, Bill Walker and friend Harvey, of Ponca City, Sherall Creek and husband Jim, of Tulsa, Gabe Bonham and wife Dee, of Tulsa, Rebecca Ramsey and husband Rick, of Springfield, Missouri, and Young Whitebeaver of Ponca City; one sister, Betty Cuttler of Ponca City and one brother, Robert Young, of Enid; 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Pearson; one sister, Ona Jean Fields and one brother, William Young.

Funeral services - Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Fairfax Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jay Clapp presiding. Interment in the Fairfax City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
