ROBERT CAMPBELL
Funeral service took place Tuesday in Knox United Church, McCreary, Man. for Robert Campbell 84 of McCreary, who died Saturday in the local hospital. Rev. Angus McColl officiated. Burial took place in the local cemetery. Mr. Campbell was born in Flint, Michigan, and came to Manitoba in 1880 with his parents. In 1902 he married Margaret Copeland and farmed in the Plumas district before moving to McCreary in 1919 where he continued farming. For a time prior to his retirement in 1938 he was an implement dealer.
Mr. Campbell was a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge and Black Preceptory. In his earlier years he was a member of the Plumas Baseball Club for 13 years. He was an ardent curler for 43 years and during the years of his retirement a keen hockey fan.
He is survived by his widow Margaret; two sons, Mervin of Yorkton, Sask; Victor, Winnipeg; a daughter, Mrs. Victor Buchanan (Lydia) of McCreary; nine grandchildren; two half brother, James, Montrose, Michigan; Ivan, Wildwood, Alta; a half sister, Mrs. Court Gates, Wildwood.
