Elizabeth 'Betty' Anne nee: Vick Thompson, loving wife mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on August 26, 2015.

 

She was born August 16, 1920.

 

A North Dakota resident for most of her life, grew up the oldest of nine on a ranch in Banks. She taught one-room school and first grade before having children and was a Title reading teacher before retiring. During World War II, she worked for Boeing in Seattle with her sister Doris. Betty instilled a love of reading, cooking, sewing, knitting, traveling, and Scrabble playing in her daughters and grandchildren.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 69 years, Harvey; daughters Joan Thompson (Drew Hamre) and Margaret Appelgren (Randy); grandchildren Justin, Kristen Trippe (Ryan), Leah Johnson (Matt), Paul, and Claire; and two great-grand- children Wesley and Miles. She is also survived by her siblings Kenny (Ruth), Margaret (Dallas), and David (Joan), as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Her parents Anne and George Arthur Vick and siblings Donald, Marion, Doris, Alan, and Jim predeceased her.

 

Our thanks to the excellent staff at Maple Grove Hospital and North Memorial Residential Hospice for their care and guidance in the final days of our mother's life.
