She was born February 16, 1923 in Loudon County, TN, one of five children born to Dora Victor Thomas and Kate Rayder Thomas.
Mrs. Alexander was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. In earlier years, she was an active bridge player and member of the garden club. She enjoyed flower gardening and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ronald Arrants Alexander; son, Michael L. Alexander; and siblings, Warren "Jack" Thomas, Denton R. "Bill" Thomas, David "Buck" Thomas, Katherine Thomas Bartlett and two infant sisters that died shortly after their birth.
She is survived by granddaughter, Melinda Alexander Sejas and husband Renato of Miami, FL and their children, Alexander and Michael. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends will meet on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for a graveside service with Dr. Larry Dipboye officiating. The family asks that any memorials be made to the American Heart Association. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
