George Thomas Riser Baker, born 3-28-1849, in AL, son of Bartholomew and Elizabeth Harriett White Baker, married Victoria America Crossland on 2-21-1871 in Claiborne Parish; Victoria A., born 6-21-1842, Green Co., GA, daughter of Lemanuel and Mary Reeves Crossland, may have been a sister of Lemanuel Pickney Crossland. The Crosslands, along with Bakers, Spurlocks, Masks, Chandlers, Pardues and Convilles were very prominent in the early settlement of Claiborne and Bienville Parishes and numerous descendants remain in these areas and surrounding parishes.
