Born on October 29, 1928 in Dover, he was the son of the late Gustav and Mary Graef Bergquist. Bob was a graduate of the Dover High School class of 1947. He honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. On October 21, 1950, he married the love of his life, Pauline "Polly" Leaders. He retired from Camco/Novatek/Safeguard, Inc in Virginia, where he worked as a General Manager for 38 years.
Bob was a member of Grace Evangelical Church in Dover, and Caplain of the Dover American Legion post #205. He served as an Elder at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Callao, Va.
In addition to his wife, Polly, he will be sadly missed by his three sons; Steven & Patsy Bergquist of Maryland, Randy & Adrienne Bergquist of Virginia, Rick Bergquist of Virginia; five grandchildren, Tracy, Blair, Ryan, Megan, and Karly; three great grandchildren; along with a niece Maryianne & Gene Lautenschleger of Coshocton.
A celebration of Bob's life will take place at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dover on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 am with Dr. William Haggis and Pastor Donald Rice Jr. officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park in Dover, where the Dover VFW will conduct military honors.
