Esther Jeanette Foley Simmons, 93, of Roanoke, joined our daddy in Heaven on Sunday, November 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Simmons; infant son, John Robert Simmons; parents, Charles and Mary Foley; three brothers; and two sisters.Mrs. Simmons was a member of Clearbrook Grace Brethren Church. She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, making quilts, and gardening.Survivors include her children, William Simmons, Mary S. Bond and husband, Richard, Joyce Sexton, and Connie S. Ferguson and husband, Jerry; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; five brothers; and two sisters.Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Clearbrook Grace Brethren Church with the Rev. Paul W. Sink Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
