4-H Club for the young people of the Filmore community, which is being sponsored by the Filmore Women's Extension Club, was organized at a meeting held at the Filmore school on March 28. It is the first time that the Filmore community has had a 4-H club.

The leaders will be Mr. and Mrs. Dan Beasley and the following officers have been elected;
President-Donald Wilson
Vice-President-Bobby Hamilton
Secretary-Wilds Lee Mirts
Song Leader-Faye Wilson
Recreation Leader-E.T. Hamilton
Reporter-Richard Elliott

This is the tenth club to be organized in Callaway County for 1944.

Bobby R. Hamilton, 63, of Mexico, formally of Fulton, died May 21, 1997 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico. He was born June 25, 1993 in Callaway County to Vollie Virgil and Mary Alice Sapp Hamilton. He married Norma Louise (?) and she survives in Mexico.

He is also survived by his mother, Mary R. Hamilton of Fulton, three sons, Martin Ray Hamilton of Atlanta, Gregg Alan Hamilton Mexico and Christopher Todd Hamilton of Mexico, two daughters, Jamie Lee Giles of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jill Megan Landreth of Mexico, three brothers, Leroy Hamilton of Fulton, Everett Hamilton of Conway, South Carolina and Ronnie Hamilton of Brookfield, one sister, Carol Woolridge of Fulton and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Hamilton was a self-employed carpet installer and had worked as a lab technician at A.P. Green for ten years. He attended Victory Fellowship Church in Fulton.

He served in the Air Force Air Police during the Korean War and was a high school basketball and football referee, a Khoury League and American Legion baseball manager/coach and was instrumental in the organization of men's softball leagues in Mexico. He was a member of the advisory board at the Mexico Senior Center and a charter member of the Optimist Club.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 24, at the Victory Fellowship Church with the Reverend Ted Harrison officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 23, from 6:30-&:30am at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico. Burial will be made to the Senior Nutrition Center in either Mexico or Fulton.
