66 year old Phillip Lee George of Smithville passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 21st at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville. He survived over two & a half years of Pancreatic Cancer. Mr. George was a Seventh Day Adventist & worked for 20 years for Metro. Nashville Parks & Recreation. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Pastor Dennis Clark will officiate & burial will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation with the family will be Monday, 3-9pm & Tuesday, 10am until the service time at 2pm. He was preceded in death by parents, Lewis B. & Billie Sue McDowell George. Grand parents, Aubrey & Mattie Braswell George. Nephew, Matthew George. Father & mother-in-law, Gilbert & Mitchel Walden. 3 brothers-in-law, Kenneth, James & Robert Harold (Bob) Walden. Survivors include his wife, Mary Susan George of Smithville. Son, Lewis Gilbert & wife Lidia George. Special son, Jeremy Allen. Brother, Gary & wife Lois George of IN & twin brother, Bill & wife Janice George of Mt. Juliet. 4 sisters-in-law, Helen & husband Wayne Cripps of Alexandria, Carolyn Walden of Alexandria, Marie Walden of Smithville & Jackie Walden of MI. Several nieces & nephews also survive. Special friends, Tommy & Maria Clayborn, Kenneth, Jeremy & Jason Neal & Rex Fathera. In addition to flowers donations can be made the American Cancer Society in memory of Phillip.
