A native of Wilson and the daughter of Charles and Jessie Welch, she lived in England from 1906 until 1913 when she returned to New York. She had a son, George and a daughter.

LOCKPORT - A native of Wilson, Mrs. Ida M. Chambers, 80, of 6737 Akron Road, Town of Lockport, died Friday (April 21, 1961) in Buffalo after a three-year illness. Mrs. Chambers was born March 10, 1881, daughter of late Charles and Jessie Welch. She moved to Lockport at an early age and lived here until 1906 when she moved to England. She returned in 1913. Mrs. Chambers was a member of Angellus Chapter. Order of Eastern Star, and Grace Episcopal Church. Survivors include a son, George C. Chambers, Lockport; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold Youngbreg, Hamburg; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Wright and Mrs. Charles Bourlier, both of Lockport; a brother, Jesse Welch, Lockport; and three grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Joseph M. Kennedy Funeral Home by Very Rev. L. Russell Foster of Grace Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
