Eugene Aiello passed away in Hollister, California on Tuesday, August 12th after a courageous battle against cancer. Eugene was a native of Canada who came to Hollister in 1961. He attended Sacred Heart School, Palma High School, and Gavilan College. As a young boy playing little league baseball with the Dodgers he set a record as their pitcher when he fanned 18 batters. A record that can be only tied and never broken. He also played baseball as well as football for Palma High School and continued to stay very active in sports at Gavilan College. "He was a physical standout for his age. The highlight of his life was his son Cooper. He was a very devoted father to Cooper and was a proud supporter of programs for autistic children", said his family. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Lakers. Eugene worked in the Family masonry business for 35 years.

Friends are invited to a Mass of The Resurrection on Thursday, August 21st beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Benedicts Church 1200 Fairview Rd., Hollister.
