Virginia K. McClure, 76, Greencastle, died Tuesday at Putnam County Hospital after a six month battle with lung cancer. She was the daughter of Bernard and Marie (Guthrie) Elder. Virginia, a homemaker, was a graduate of the Academy of the Immaculate Conception. She married Foster McClure on Aug. 21, 1936, and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Emile C. Charlier, Plainfield: two sons and daughter-in-laws, Wallace B. and Elizabeth McClure, Phoenix, and Ronald F. and Karen McClure, Ft. Wayne; a sister, Mary Margaret Whitman, Brazil, and six grandchildren. Virginia was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 1550 and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary No. 58. She was preceded in death by her parents.
This is my Mom and my best friend. She loved Bingo and playing cards. She was aways doing some form of needlework.
